The National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with members of South Sudan’s private sector, has donated several food items to patients at a military hospital in Juba on Sunday.

The institution intends to provide humanitarian assistance to public health facilities across the country.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Chairman of the National Chamber of Commerce, Agriculture and Industry, Mr. Lado Lukak Legi, said the donation reflects the private sector’s social responsibility and its commitment to helping the most vulnerable members of society.

“This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to complement the work of the government in uplifting health services and supporting those who serve the nation,” he said.

“We encourage all business people and traders to contribute in any way they can to enhance the wellbeing of our public hospitals,” Legi added.

The donation included an assortment of essential food items, which were warmly received by patients and hospital staff alike.

Many patients, especially the wounded soldiers, expressed their appreciation for the continued support and concern from the business community.

A representative of Juba Military Hospital acknowledged the Chamber’s consistent support. “Over the past periods, we have received valuable support from the Chamber of Commerce and the private sector in Juba.”

“Their contributions have played an important role in improving the morale and recovery of our patients.”

The Chamber reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining such initiatives and called upon other stakeholders in the business sector to participate actively in strengthening the country’s public health system.
