Authorities in Lakes State have reported that a 28-year-old man died during the new year celebration, after consuming too much alcohol.

Lakes State police spokesperson, Major Elijah Mabor, reported that the man was found lying dead on the road at Malualbab residence in Rumbek main market.

The body was taken to the hospital for medical examination and the report revealed that he had consumed too much alcohol.

“Those who know him well say he was addicted to alcohol. He had deserted home and was wandering in the market,” he said.

He added that the deceased depended on handouts from locals in the market, and the little he would get he would use to buy local liquor. He would spend the entire time-consuming alcohol. The body was later taken by the relatives after the medical examination.
