A propeller fell off a cargo plane which plies Juba – Paloch route leading to a scary incident at the Juba International Airport on Thursday.

Speaking to The City Review, the Director for Juba International Airport Kur Kuol said the incident happened when the cargo plane was flying from Paloch, Upper Nile State to the capital, Juba.

“It was a cargo plane. The incident happened on [while the plane was on] its way back to Juba. It came back with only one propeller [and] it is back safely. No one [has been] hurt even the pilot is safe,” he said.

According to Kuol, the aviation engineers failed to properly fix the propeller leading to its falling off while the plane was airborne.

He added that good Samaritans brought the broken piece of the propeller to the airport.

The incident dominated social media with prior rumours indicating that a propeller plugged off a flying plane, and almost hit engineers working on Juba-Bor road, in Cue-Keer Payam East of Bor County in Jonglei State.
