A prominent rapper and music producer in the Hardlife Avenue Stars Murwe Alex—popularly known as Mantani— has died.

Alex died at Lacor Hospital in Gulu, Uganda, on Saturday morning, Radio Miraya.

The singer was involved in a grisly road accident in Moyo District in Uganda on Thursday, where he sustained serious head injuries.

The group members broke the news on Facebook about the accident and urged the fans, family and friends to pray for his recovery.

The group stated: ‘‘Dear fans, friends, colleagues and family, please put Mantani Ov Hardlyfe in your prayers as he has been involved in a serious accident in Moyo District, Uganda and is being referred to Laco Hospital in Gulu District.

‘‘We will keep you updated only on our official social media pages, avoid listening to hearsay.’’

They appealed to the members of the public not to share the pictures of the accident scene adding such an act would subject family and friends to trauma.

‘‘We advise that those with the pictures of our brother Munu Tani involving his accident should not and must stop posting the pictures on social media to avoid trauma as we pray to God/ Allah to heal him sooner. We strongly believe that he will be well sooner,’’ the group posted.
