Juba Superstars and Yei Join Stars are joint top of the South Sudan Women’s National League with six games already played.
The two teams have tied on 14 points going into Match Day 7 as the teams eye the second leg of the campaign.
Juba Superstars have enjoyed an excellent campaign in the first leg, winning four out of six games and drawing only two. They also have a commanding goal difference of 17.
Second-placed Yei have 14 points after winning four, drawing two and scoring 6 goals less than Juba’s tally. Torit comes third with 12 points after winning four matches and losing two.
Wau FC and Kuajok FC trail in the table after only winning a game each and losing five matches.
The South Sudan Football Association touched on the progress of the league on Wednesday and reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen the sports for women.
SSFA tweeted: ‘‘This weekend, SSFA women will reach half way through the South Sudan FA Women’s National League. So far, women have displayed unbelievable skills, determination, passion and unity. The league has brought men & women in communities together to support the women playing football.’’
On the seventh matchday, Yei faces Wau, Torit hosts Yambio, Juba will entertain Kuajok in away fixture and Aweil will also host Bentiu.
