South Sudanese churches have joined other countries in mourning self-proclaimed prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua alias TB Joshua who died mysteriously last week.
Prophet Peter Edi, the General Oversees at South Sudan Stone International Church, said in the meantime, people were heartbroken but, in the spirit, something is energising people telling them that the ‘children of God must continue’. He said, “TB Joshua is telling us that there is time to come to service and time to go home though it is tragic and unexpected but we remain in remembering what the man of God usually says.
“He used to tell us that what matters in life is not how many years you leave, but the impact and the influence you leave to accomplish. Prophet Edi believes TB Joshua is not dead but he has just sleep and he as gone to his father’s home to accomplish his work.
“I strongly believe and I want urge the republic of South Sudan, friends and people who loves TB Joshua worldwide, I want tell you that Prophet TB Joshua has slept and Prophet TB Joshua is now home with lord,” he encouraged his fellow believers. ‘Still with us’ “The man of God has gone to be with lord, he has slept in the mood but he is more living because when the prophet departed he did not depart from the presence of God,” he repeated.
He said ‘‘it is just us in the face who were broken but the kingdom and heaven are celebrating the greatest general ever that the world have seen in the history in such extra ordinary annoyed’’. He encouraged people to take calm and come together and to avoid circulating negative rumours about the man of God, who the followers believe will receive a befitting reward from God. “God told to Abraham that he who blesses you I will bless and he who curses l will curse so let no one joke with whatever. “TB Joshua slept in God’s time and we as his children, we as his sons and daughters around the world we are standing and saying that our father we salute the grace that the God impacted through him into our lives and we are honoring him,” he added.
He said the death of TB Joshua will be a turning around as he (Joshua) adding that the fallen cleric came to South Sudan once but never had a chance to come back. And that his last visit would continue bringing good memories. In 2019, in his visit in South Sudan, Prophet TB Joshua in his prophetic message at the Presidential Palace in Juba called on the South Sudan’s leaders to overcome their differences for peace to prevail. Speaking at a gathering at J1, TB Joshua said he came to pray for peace and deliver a prophetic message to the nation.
“Time has come for us to overcome our divisions, for us to put aside behind us our differences. There is no more time for us. God wants to move the nation forward,” Joshua repeated this message time and again. He added that South Sudanese are scattered all over the world yet their country is endowed with plenty of natural resources.
“As I traveled the world, I have discovered that people from South Sudan are all over the world. There is no country on this earth you will not find South Sudanese. They are intelligent, hardworking ambitious people. Our leaders should overcome their divisions and allow them to come back to develop their fatherland,” he added. The cleric farther said God has his plan for the nation and it will come to fruition.
“Next month we talk of December, new year. This country is going to enter New Year whether you like it or not, whether I like it or not. Your agreement does not matter to what God is about to do. You cannot stand in the way of the Lord,” he prophesied.
His death
The founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) died on Saturday, June 5, after which TB Joshua Ministries issued a statement following his death. The 57-year-old televangelist, famously known as TB Joshua, commanded huge followership of viewers on social media platforms such as YouTube and Facebook.
The ministry eulogised the preacher as someone who gave his all to the work of God and set up foundations for many Christians including generations yet to come. The statement ended with a parting shot from the preacher: watch and pray.
TB Joshua Ministries at some point had issues with YouTube after the streaming tech giant censored his channel over hate-related allegations. The ban came after a video emerged where the preacher is said to have paraded someone for prayers to ‘remove spirits of homosexuality.’ He vowed to appeal the censorship. The cause of his death is still unclear.
