Leicester City appeared to be headed for a loss after Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah snatched an opener for Liverpool at King Power Stadium in the 67th minute of the game.

The Reds had put a foot forward to pull a win after a recent thrashing in the hands of Manchester City, where goal keeper Alisson Becker registered his worst performance in the jersey.

But this was not their day. The odds were not going to allow them.

English midfielder James Maddison had to settle for a free kick after VAR ruled out a penalty in the 78th minute. Maddison from the edge of the box but the goal was ruled out for an offside only to be restored after another VAR check. Jamie Vardy scored a second before Harvey Barnes wrapped up with a third to snatch the victory from Liverpool.

Liverpool is at the brink of being overtaken by Chelsea and West Ham which both sit at positions 5 and 6 with 39 points and a game to play.

Leicester on the other hand goes to second place with 46 points, just a point ahead of third-placed Manchester United.
