President Salva Kiir Mayardit has condoled with the United Kingdom and the Northern Ireland over the death of Prince Phillip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II.
The presidency shared a condolence message on the official Facebook page where the president tabled his condolences sympathies on ‘behalf of Revitalised Transitional Government of National Unity and the people of South Sudan.’
“I send my deepest sympathies to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11, the right Honorable Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and the entire Royal Family on the passing of her Royal Highness Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburg,” the document stated.
The president said the late Prince Philip was a huge figure in the United Kingdom’s monarchy for the last 73 years and that the void he left would be felt across the world.
He said, “The people of South Sudan stand in solidarity with grief-stricken people of the United Kingdom and their friends across the globe.
“In this hour of sorrow send our love and prayers to our friends in the United Kingdom for God almighty to give comfort and courage they need to cope with immense loss.”
Prince Phillip, aged 99, died on April 9, 2021. Bucking Palace communicated the sad moment sparking flow of condolence messages.
He was renowned by the title Duke of Edinburg and had gathered public endorsement during his times of service from 1952 to 2017. He retired from royal duties in 2017.
Prince Phillip married Queen Elizabeth II and they had four children, namely: Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.
