Chadian President Idriss Déby (pictured), who won a sixth term presidency, has died. According to a state radio announcement by army spokesperson, Général Azem Bemrandoua Agouna, the Chadian leader succumbed to the injuries inflicted on him when he led his troops against insurgents in the northern part of the country.
Reports revealed that he had won by 79.3 per cent and had opted to visit his the Chadian frontline soldiers. The troops confronted the (Front for Change and Concord in Chad)- a battle which left him with fatal injuries.
The rebels entered Chad from Libya and have been fighting to topple the 31-year reign of Deby.
