Yel Luol, South Sudan’s Undersecretary and Minister of Trade and Investment, told journalists in Juba that the exhibitions, which began on Tuesday in Juba’s Freedom Hall, would last four days.

“We are happy to announce the 2nd Sudanese products exhibition that will kick off on Tuesday. It will be launched by the Minister of South Sudan’s Investment, Dr Dhieu Matok, and it will end on December 18, 2021, ” he said.

Luol added that the 2nd Sudan expo would provide an opportunity for Sudanese exhibitors to display what the buyers would expect to buy at affordable prices.

Mr Luol, who is also a member of the organising committee, said most of the country’s dignitaries, including diplomats and business groups, are expected to attend the event.

Salah Omer El Sheikh, the SUDAEXPO Chairman, expressed gratitude to South Sudan’s Ministry of Investment for allowing Sudan to showcase its products in the country.

He said the expo would enable them to promote trade ties, including bilateral relations between the two countries, at various levels.

“We are happy about the start of this day. It is something we expected, and we hope and believe such ties will continue to strengthen and develop bilateral relations between the two countries at various levels,” Salah said.

For his part, Salwa Manytuil, the deputy chairperson of South Sudan’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture said such relations should be encouraged among the countries.

She stated that the expo will help strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries but will also lower commodity prices in the country.

The 2nd Sudan expo was organised under the theme “Strengthening ties between the two countries.”

The event was organised by SUDAEXPO Sudanese Company for Conference and Exhibitions under the supervision of the South Sudan Ministry of Investment in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, and the Business Community and supported by GIAD GROUP for Engineering Industries.

It is the second time South Sudan is hosting a Sudanese exhibition in Juba. The first Sudan Expo took place in January 2021.
