Western Equatoria State acting Governor, Daniel Badagbu, has donated SSP 5 million and USD 640 to Yambio FM to boost their services.

The contribution also includes three barrels of fuel, a car battery, and an additional USD 640 to support the station’s electricity needs.

In a statement to the media, the press unit of the Deputy Governor’s office, led by Jackson Gaaniko Mathew said the governor’s support extends further with the provision of a motorbike, ten bicycles, five headphones, and five recorders. These resources aim to improve the station’s mobility and broadcasting capabilities.

This gesture came after Yambio FM’s management and staff visited the acting governor’s office to discuss operational challenges.

Emmanuel Samuel, head of the team highlighted the challenges of power shortages and limited transportation for field reporting.

In response, acting Governor Badagbu promptly offered the necessary support to ensure the station’s continued service to the community.

Expressing their gratitude, Yambio FM’s management emphasized that the support would significantly enhance their efficiency and service delivery.

Yambio FM 90.0 MHz was established in 2009, as a state-owned broadcasting outlet, and has faced intermittent operations leading listeners to often criticize its on-and-off status.
