Chelsea and Manchester United shared spoils after the two teams had to settle for a barren draw at Stamford Bridge.

Thomas Tuchel dropped Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham and opted to go with Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech and Olivier Giroud on the flanks. In midfield, Ngolo Kante came for Jorgino to lineup alongside Mateo Kovacic as Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell played as wingbacks ahead of Caesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Manchester United lined up with Daniel James, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood all playing in the attack. Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay and Fred lineup in midfield as Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof , Luke Shaw and Wan Bissaka played in defence.

Chelsea dominated the first minutes as Man United found its footing dictating the last 18 minutes of the first half. The second half also saw glimpses by both teams trying to get the lead but they cancelled one another’s threat.

A fast-half drama ensued when the match officials took to the VAR screens to review what appeared to be a handball by Callum Hudson-Odoi, but the match officials ruled against giving a penalty for the visitors.

The Red Devils remain second with 50 points while the Blues remain fifth with 44 points.
