President Salva Kiir has urged senior four candidates sitting for exams to embrace courage and champion their fear and fever.

Kiir revealed that there were 34,536 candidates who are sitting for the examination and out of these 11,716 females and 22,820 males this difference will have to close so that boys and girls are always equal in class and so that when they graduate, they use the same opportunities to compete in the government position’s

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has urged candidates sitting for the South Sudan School Certificate of Secondary Education examinations to champion fear and fever throughout the exam period.

“My children, there is nothing to fear about [exams]. It is always understood that when such a time comes, some of you will start to tremble. This is not a new phenomenon, it has been there throughout but I want to tell you that have courage and you apply all that you have been taught,” he said.

Addressing hundreds of form four candidates at Juba Day Secondary School Monday where he also rung the bell to mark the official commencement of exams, Kiir emphasized the essence of education and called upon the nation to value educators.

“I am very excited to ring with you the bell that symbolizes examinations and to also wish you the   candidates who are sitting for this important examination a very best of lack.”

The president advised South Sudanese to recognize the teachers, officials in the ministry of education for working hard to ensure that education progress despite the challenges in the country.

 “These figures represent an increase of 20.4% from 2019 while more still needs to be done this percentages increase is recommendable and this didn’t come out of the blue, it came as the result of the hard work from the official in the ministries and the teachers.” he said    

With the return of peace, I would like to urge all   South Sudanese to embrace the pursue of education because our ability to move our country forward lays in its transformative power

My last words to you my children are that you’re the future of tomorrow in South Sudan and I being your president I don’t feel happy when we send children to foreign countries for education

“It was so because there was war in our country and now that there is peace we have to organize ourselves so that all the children who are studying outside the country have to come back to the country

You have the universities, high schools here and primary and there is nothing that you lack and I hope to hear the results that you have scored everything

 The president rang the bell and tole the students to go their classes,” Now my children I have rang the bell. You can now go to your classes and prepare for the last minute,”

The headmaster of Juba day senior secondary school George Kenyi said that the president’s turn up to his school was already a sign that the exams to be done, something that many people though could not happen.

“I thank God that the exams are going to start and maybe in the whole of East Africa we are the country   first country to start exams amid the coronavirus and this makes South Sudan to be a county that does not believe in defeat and sounder,”

“In fact, we as teachers when we were given the task to teacher within this short period of time, we did our best and all these students are going to do their best.” Governor of Central Equatorial State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony encouraged the students to know that the country’s future lays in the candidate’s hands
