A total of 83 students have graduated from Jonglei Christian Vocational School after five months of intensive training in tailing, information technology, electrical engineering installation and wiring, agriculture, and Bible Studies.

The school is funded by the Star Fish Foundation in the United States and other national partners.

Jacob Agany, the Principal of the school said was the 19th batch graduation to be conducted by the institute.

 “The reason is to empower every individual with skills that are needed to survive in the real world of today and we as the school have created some impact and changed the life of many people who we have trained here at this school,” said Agany.

He continued that the vocational training is not only serving the people from Jonglei State but also every citizen who is willing to be enrolled at the school.

Nyamar Lony, the State Minister of Information and Technology urged the graduates to use the skills they have acquired to boost their livelihoods through income generation.

“Make money, for example, those who are ICT should start a business of graphic design and the tailors should start on the design dressing.”

“I did information technology which is passionate and we all have different gifts that we can use to bring income and food to our families and a great achievement for our country,” Lony said.

However, the minister told the graduates that life is a journey and that it is going to be difficult but urged them not to give up.
