South Sudan will face Jordan in the preliminaries of the 2021 Arab FIFA Cup set to be played later this year.

”The South Sudan Bright Star will face the Jordanians this coming November-a match that will qualify them into Group C if they win against the Jordanians. In the same group, we have Morocco Saudi Arabia and the winner from Palestine vs Comoros game. We wish the Bright Star good luck,’’ the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) said in a tweet on Wednesday.
FIFA and Qatar government intend to use the tournament as the curtain-raiser for the forth-coming 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The tournament will attract 23 teams from Asia and Africa. They include Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan and Tunisia. The Asian ones are Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
