The Sudan People Liberation Movement Army in opposition has reported a new fight in Nasir County in Upper Nile State
According to a document extended to The City Review by the SPLA-IO Deputy Military Spokesperson Col. Lam Paul Gabriel, ‘SPLA-IO troops were forced to withdraw from their post in Ketbeek area following the onslaught by the SSPDF.’
‘‘The SPLA-IO is aware of the clashes between the SSPDF and civilians in Koat,” the document stated.
The SPLA-IO said the fight started during the weekend on the March 14 this year. It led to the burning of civilian’s houses and destroyed properties.
However, the SSPDF acting spokesperson Brig. Gen. Santo Dominic said his office did not receive full information about the Nasir attack.
“The only information [that I have is that] the day before yesterday an army attacked our forces in Nasir but we don’t know whether it is the SPLA-IO or the white army so this is what needs to be investigated,” he said.
