The Vice President for Economic Cluster, James Wani Igga, has advised the communities living in Western Equatoria State to cooperate with their newly crowned king, His Majesty Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue.
On Wednesday, Atoroba was crowned as the new Azande King to oversee the newly restored kingdom.
While in Yambio for an official mission on Thursday, Igga said it would be pointless for people to oppose the new king.
He said it was necessary for the Azande people to re-establish the kingdom, which he felt could maintain and promote the lost culture and unity.
He made the statement during his visit to the king’s palace.
The Azande community, on the other hand, was entrusted with putting aside their differences, notably between the Azande princesses, and assisting the monarch in carrying out his goals.
“It’s quite significant. I would like to take a stand in support of our King, Atoroba. He requires our assistance. We must work together,” he said.
“The second point is that we must have the support of our folks for the next king because, without it, he will not be able to be powerful and achieve his aims of fostering and conserving culture as well as progress,” Igga said.
He reiterated that that division will make things worse and the kingdom will fail to fulfil its aims of encouraging and maintaining culture as well as growth.
Call for unity
“Only unity among the Azande community would make the Kingdom progress, especially with the Azande princess. I understand some of you will differ as to why Atoroba was chosen to be the King. I urge you to work together and cooperate among yourselves, “Dr Igga emphasised.
He also urged the people of Western Equatoria State to continue producing more food to increase the nation’s food output.
Igga stressed his visit was to brief the communities of Western Equatoria State on the status of the revitalised peace agreement’s implementation and also to give public lectures and train SPLM senior cadres.
Meanwhile, Azande King Atoroba has pledged to engage with all communities in Western Equatoria State, regardless of their backgrounds.
He appealed to the state and national governments to support his new kingdom’s foundation.
On Wednesday, King Atoroba vowed to promote unity and peaceful coexistence in the Azande Kingdom.
King Atoroba said his first program would be to unite the Azande people as well as other communities within the Azande Kingdom as a means of peaceful co-existence.
He explained that the Azande Kingdom was restored not to separate its people but to strengthen the nation’s lost cohesiveness and work together for growth and better service delivery to its people.
“As a new day dawns for us as Azande people, as Azande King, I will work with everyone in this kingdom to restore our lost togetherness to achieve our dreams of promoting development, “Azande King Atoroba said.
