South Sudan’s COVID-19 cases have gone up by 89 in the past 24 hours, data from the COVID-19 Incident Manager Dr Richard Lako reveals.

The country’s cumulative caseload now stands at 8,959 and the total cumulative tests now stand at 116, 864. The data also reveals that eight people are battling for their lives at the IDU.

Total active cases are 2,943 and 5,914 have so far recovered from the virus. The cumulative death toll has slightly passed the 100-mark and is currently at 102. There was no death case registered in the past 24 hours.

887 contacts are currently being followed up for testing and treatment. Also, the COVID-19 Audit committee is continuing with the inspections of the institutions to assess their preparedness to combat the spread of the disease.
