Afrexim Bank President Dr Benedict Okey Oramah has toured South Sudan in a two-day visit to Africa’s youngest nation. Dr Oramah held meetings with President Salva Kiir Mayardit as well as senior government’s officials in the capital Juba.
The aim of Dr Oramah, who was accompanied by his senior bank’s officials and African business investors from Egypt, Nigeria, and Tunisia, among others. The aim was to attract direct rapid foreign investment in South Sudan. Upon his arrival on Friday, Dr Oramah had said “There are many things to be done here (in South Sudan).
So, by supporting infrastructure development we are going to be able to attract direct rapid foreign investment.”
He added: “We understand that there is a big infrastructure program here, we haven.t been part yet. So, we want to revamp them. But this is a big country and we have no worry even though one billion dollars, we are not going to shake our responsibility if it needs that worth of that package.”
