The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, has called on the state officials to work together to deliver services to the citizens.

He made the remarks during the swearing-in ceremony of the State Advisor on Peace and Security, Daya Lodu Michael, on Friday at the State Government Secretariat.

“Let us team up because when we work together, we will realise what we want to do and [achieve] the results. When you are assigned, you are part of the government, and when you fail, you fail for it. Also, when we succeed, we succeed because of it,” Adil said.

Governor Adil urged the new advisor to coordinate his work with the county commissioners, the state security organs, and other stakeholders in the state to ensure peace and security prevail across the state.

He advised Mr Lodu to do his work as a citizen of the state but as a political party to deliver services to the people of the state.

On his part, the Advisor on Economic Affairs, David Wani, assured Daya Lodu of his readiness to work with him as a team in advising the governor and giving him correct solutions to the affairs of the state that benefit the whole people.

Meanwhile, Daya Lodu Michael, the newly appointed state advisor on peace and security, promised to coordinate with the governor to address the security issues in the state.

“I will be working hand in hand through your directives as my superior, as my governor to ensure that security prevails in our state and throughout the entire country of South Sudan.”

Mr. Lodu was appointed by the president in a presidential decree read on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Cooperation on the ticket of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA).

President Salva Kiir dismissed James Modi Loku, who is also from SSOA, earlier this month and replaced him with Daya Lodu without any explanation for his removal.
