The Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) has condemned the killing of seven cattle traders in the Bor market on Friday.

Information Minister of Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA), Jay Adingora Alual, urged the government of Jonglei State to hold the perpetrators accountable for justice to prevail.

“Their action was triggered by some criminals who murdered two people on their way to Anyidi whom, they suspected to be from Murle. We cannot deny or accept because of the fact that these criminal activities had been going on in our region for a long time, involving both the Murle, Dinka and Nuer,” he said.

Alual stated that they have been working hard to bring peace to the region.

Alual recalled that this was the second time that people from the ethnic group had been killed in Bor town, saying in 2007 some were assassinated in Bor Hospital.

“This is unfortunate and we condemn the act. We should not be killing peaceful cattle traders in our town in the name of criminals whom we cannot verify,” he said.

We condemn this crime and urge you, our sisterly state, to work in collaboration to cease such atrocities and bring peace to our region, ” Alual stated.
