Al Rabita FC coach, Abdulrahman Chol Rajab, is dead.
The former member of the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) Board of Directors, and Chairman of the Coaches Committee, was knocked by a car in Juba on Wednesday.
Sources reveal the driver lost control of the car and hit Mr Rajab who was sitting beside the road in Malakia, Juba town.
“[He was among many people] seated in one of the places where they normally spend their time. Unfortunately, there was a car that came from nowhere and the driver himself lost control, and after realising there was danger everyone took off but the late fell down and was knocked,” a source narrated.
He said Rajab sustained fatal injuries that could not have let him survive, adding that had he sustained minor injuries, his life would have been salvaged.
The late Rajab was one of four experienced South Sudanese coaches with a B License, and his passing will come as a huge blow to South Sudanese football fans.
Last year, the Rajab was delegated by the South Sudan Football Association to take charge of Yei Joint Star FC in the Women’s CAF Championship in Kenya, in which he managed to get one win out of three games.
