Kent Anthony joined Atlabara as a junior player from the Uganda Premier League side Onduparaka before they were relegated to the second division.
The young star established himself as a starter under then Atlabara coach Akon Peter.
Now, after spending some time at the club, the player is looking forward to the exit door.
Notably, contracts in South Sudan football are very complicated. You have to sign two contracts, one with the Juba Local Football Association then with the South Sudan Football Association, which makes it very complicated even if you sign a one-year contract. With the South Sudan Football Association, it is 4 years, which makes it difficult for clubs to release players.
However, Kent believes his newly acquired agent can push his move to a new club of choice.
“I have my agent. He will do it for me because when a player does not feel comfortable, it is difficult for the player to perform for the club. My agent will be the one to do that for me which makes it possible.”
The Atlabara winger is currently nursing a knee injury sustained this season which took long for the player to recover and help his team push for the tittle.
Speaking to The City Review News Desk regarding his injury, Kent lamented that not much has been done to help him with his injury. He further wished to get a new club that will value him.
Kent stressed the challenges he faced at Atlabara football club.
“In life there are advantages and disadvantages. They have done more but I have also faced so many challenges there (at the club),” he said.
The players next move will be determined by the club that is willing to meet his terms and conditions. According to the player, he does not dream of playing in South Sudan soon, but in other leagues.
” I will go to any team that has a vision and ready to compete. I like to play in a team that has stiff competition.”
Just like Kent, many players who dream of playing outside must invest their hard-earned money into videos to convince foreign scouts and coaches.
According to the player, he will have very fond memories about the club in case he leaves. He highlighted that it is Atlabara that gave him the name, and from where he was called up to the national team.
