Former Director of Passports, Nationality and Immigration Gen Agustino Madut Parek is the winner of South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) presidency. Mr Parek won the seat with 20 out of 30 votes. Charles Udwar Ukech won the vice presidency with 21 out of 37 votes.
The association committee trimmed the list of the candidates from 14 to six and finally to four after two candidates were struck off just nearly a month to the poll over failure to meet the requirements.
The secretary to the electoral committee, Abdallah Delesuk, told the media in June that only four contenders had complied fully with the requirements.
“The committee after having examined the candidates, in accordance with article 8 of SSFA Electoral Code, 2012, (amended 2021), has unanimously decided to publish the initial list of the candidates,” Delesuk said in the statement seen by the City Review.
“Lual Maluk Lual, Peter Achuil Adoding, Augustino Madut Parek, and incumbent SSFA President Francis Amin Michael were the candidates their names were approved by the SSFA-EC,” he added.
