The Central Equatoria State Engineering Corporation (CESEC) has suspended issuance and reviewing of building permits and approvals by the Juba City Council and County Engineering Department.
The order issued on April 11 also urged both institutions to cease inspections of any building.
The State engineering corporation intends to undertake the technical review of all building permits and approvals, including contractor documentatìon, legal standing, and stage approvals.
This aimed to ensure adherence to safety standards in all ongoing construction projects in the Central Equatoria State.
The order directed all engineering companies in the Central Equatoria State to register with the Central Equatoria State Engineering Corporation (CESCE) within fifteen days.
“Those not registered with the CESEC within the next fifteen day will face difficulty to obtain building permits or approvals within Central Equatoria State.”
The companies are also advised to adhere to the Corporation’s rule and regulations to ensure smooth running of their business according to the terms and conditions for conducting engineering activities within Central Equatoria State.
