“This initiative by Bishop Eduardo is more than just a ride. It is a symbol of hope, harmony, and healthy living,” said Abel Sudani, County Commissioner of Ezo, during his opening remarks.

He added that “It reflects the risen Christ’s message of peace and renewal, not only in faith but also in how we live as a community.”

“Let’s get back to our farms. Farming is dignity, and farming is power. The government stands ready to support every effort that drives peace and prosperity,” he added.

The day also saw a powerful ecumenical presence, with Bishop Ephraim Bangisa of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan (ECSS) Ezo Diocese standing shoulder to shoulder with Catholic clergy and local church leaders.

Bishop Bangisa referred to Bishop Eduardo as “a basket of wisdom” whose vision has inspired interfaith unity and public participation in peaceful community events.

The event was crown by various competitions, which included a 500-meter bicycle race and a 300-meter footrace to food contests, rope pulling, and electrifying cultural dance performances. A spirited football match between local youth teams capped the day, sending cheers echoing across the Payam.

Fr. William Abash Gamboripai, the Episcopal Vicar of Ezo Vicariate and one of the key organizers, said the success of the event proved that peace is possible when communities come together for a common purpose.

“Our people have shown today that peace isn’t just a dream, it’s a decision. When we dance, race, laugh, and pray together, we are choosing peace,” Fr. William told The Reporter.
