Vice President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel received a detailed briefing from the Chairperson of the National Transitional Committee (NTC), Hon. Kuol Manyang Juuk.

The discussion centered on accelerating the full implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement.

Hon. Kuol Manyang shared the committee’s ongoing efforts to engage all signatory parties and ensure coordinated progress on key outstanding provisions.

The Chairperson also briefed the Vice President on the committee’s strengthened collaboration with new political leadership, following recent transitions in several signatory parties and groups.

“Encouragingly, all parties are now aligned on urgent priorities – ranging from institutional reforms and inclusive governance to the full unification of armed forces under one Commander-In-Chief, His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit,” the Vice President’s Press Unit noted in a statement.

While commending the outstanding work that the NTC is doing, the Vice President emphasized that South Sudanese people have waited long enough – they deserve peace today, not tomorrow. And it is the responsibility of every leader to deliver that goal.

“Without peace, there can be no development. Without peace, there can be no future. And without peace, there is no country to call our own,” the Vice President concluded.
