Koryom FC made a surprising showcase on Tuesday as they claimed their footing from poor form to beat Malakia 2-1.
Koryom player, Angufi Mudashir, showed brilliance as he got hold up in the Malakia defense at a risky spot, was brought down, and earned his side a penalty kick.
The penalty could not be saved by Malakia’s goalkeeper Dario Yaba, who flew the wrong way as Christopher Kirr shot the other, claiming the 1-0 opener to separate the two sides.
Malakia’s pressing and determination allowed them through Emmanuel Jwang’s cross that made Khasim Mugoya to superbly finish on the 15th minute leveling the game at 1-1.
Malakia almost got another opportunity to lead only for the shot to be fired wide out of place by midfielder Kabwansongo Ngal.
The team’s defenders were to blame for the Koryom’s second goal of the evening, as Faisal Sewanyana brought Mawut Garang inside the box for the second penalty in the second half, as Kirr Christopher again sent the goalkeeper in the wrong direction to make it 2-1 for Koryom.
The hosts were reduced to ten as the captain, Oman Mobil was shown a red card for misconduct.
It was a part of the back for Koryom FC at the final whistle, as they responded from defeat at the hands of El Meriekh last week, to pick points in yesterday’s meeting.
The win will see the Koryom or the ‘landlords’, stretch their foot to second at the summit of the league, as Malakia earns their fourth loss of the season.
