Manchester United was held to a 1-1 draw by relentless West Bromwich Albion away at the Hawthorns on Sunday.

The Red Devils were angling to cover gap between them and league leaders Manchester City by clinching away win. A victory would have brought them to second place with 48 points. But with 46 points, Man United leapfrogs Leicester City to second place spot but on goal difference.

Mbaye Diagne sneaked behind Harry Maguire to head in a Conor Gallagher’s cross to put the home side infront with barely two minutes of play. It took Man United time to put foot forward into the game because of Sam Allardyce low block tactic.

With possession and pressing, Man United pulled back an equaliser after Bruno Fernandes grabbed a no-look finish from Luke Shaw’s delivery from the left wing. Both teams then had to settle for a point each after the game remained with no goals in the second half.

Elsewhere, Wolves condemned Southampton to a sixth consecutive defeat in history after coming from behind to grab a 2-1 win.

Danny Ings put the Saints forward in the first half. Reuben Neves then converted from the spot to equalise for Wolves before a fantastic strike by Neto sealed the three points.
