Central Equatoria State Government has called on cattle traders operating in Mogiri Boma of Mangalla Payam to embrace peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.
This appeal followed an official visit to Mogiri Cattle Market by a state delegation led by Hon. Angelo Daya, the State Advisor for Peace and Security, to assess the status of cattle trading activities in the area.
The Mogiri Cattle Market primarily hosts traders from the Greater Pibor Administrative Area.
According to a statement from the office of the Governor, Hon. Daya emphasized on the importance of cooperation and respect for local communities.
“When you come with your cows, notify the relevant authorities in Central Equatoria, particularly in Juba, because your security here is a shared responsibility,” he stated.
Hon. Leon Abe Brown, the State Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agency conveyed a message from the Governor of Central Equatoria State highlighting the need for unity among cattle traders.
”Peaceful coexistence among you as cattle traders is essential in promoting economic stability,” Abe was quoted as saying.
Representing the cattle traders from the Greater Pibor Administrative Area, Zakaria Kengen expressed gratitude for the State government’s visit and engagement. He called for “inter-state collaboration between Central Equatoria and the Greater Pibor Administrative Area to enhance the cattle trade.”
