The Chief Administrator of Ruweng Administrative Area, Tiob De Monyluak Diran, has welcomed Prof. James Wani Igga as the new Secretary General (SG) of the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM).

On February 9, President Salva Kiir relieved Prof. Igga from his role as the Vice President for Economic Cluster and appointed him the SPLM SG, replacing peter Lam Both.

Yesterday, Prof. Igga took oath of office, formally assuming the new office

Monyluak expressed confidence in Igga, calling him a liberator and a senior member of the ruling party. He said the new Secretary General will walk the party in the right path, and revealed that SPLM members in the administrative area welcome their new official.

“We thank the president for the wise and bold decision he has taken of appointing Dr. James Wani as Secretary General of the SPLM party. In addition to that, we greatly welcome Dr. James Wani Igga as the people of Ruweng Administrative Area as a wise leader and a senior member of the SPLM party,” Monyluak said.
