South Sudan beat Uganda in a retaliatory return leg to keep the African Cup of Nations hope alive.
The Bright Stars beat ten-men Uganda Cranes, 1-0 in their second leg of Total AFCON 2021 Qualifies.
Bright Stars’ forward, Tito Okello scored from the penalty spot 36 minutes into the first half after a Ugandan Cranes’ defending midfield, Khalid Aucho received a red card for a foul thirty-three minutes into the game.
The second half of the match sent Bright Stars’ midfielder, Abdallah Asad Musa out of the field after accumulating two yellow cards.
Bright Stars persistently defended their possession to collect maximum points.
This victory has awarded Bright Stars with three points after losing to Uganda with the same goal margin in their first leg on 12th November at Saint Kitende Football Stadium.
South Sudan remains at the bottom of the table in their group with two more games to play against Burkina Faso and Malawi next year.
Bright Stars are currently at their best. The national team has drawn AFCON defending champions Cameroon on two friendlies.
