The government has announced four-day long Easter Holiday break for government and private institutions beginning Friday, April 2.
Easter holiday celebration is a fete that dates back several years ago, and is where Christians commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ globally.
According to the notice issued by the ministry of labour, the holiday will commence this week on Friday through Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Workers will resume duty on Tuesday.
‘‘The National Ministry of Labour hereby informs all the civil service institutions, commissions, diplomatic missions, UN Agencies, national and international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and the public at large that Easter holiday starts on Friday, 2th April 2021 to Monday, 5 April 2021. Work will resume on Tuesday, 6 April 2021,’’ the circular partly read.
However, the celebrants will not communally celebrate the feast due to partial COVID-19 lockdown on social events including churches.
