Yei Joint Stars management will open talks with players on their contracts in June, a source privy to the developments has revealed.

Majority of the players of the defending champion will be out of contracts in June.

The source, who preferred to conceal his identity during this interview, told The City Review Sports Desk that ten key players of the club will be out of contract at the end of this season, a move that if left unattended could leave the Club in a precarious position.

The Club has made remarkable success in South Sudan football over the last five years, with most of the players contributing immensely to the success.

However, renewing or renegotiating contracts ca prove a costly affair.

The source says they value the contracts of each of their players and have to also respect the contract guidelines drawn by the South Sudan Football Association.

“We will always look forward to take the players that we value to be part of us. However, that will not stop us from making them leave. At the end of it all we know the football in South Sudan. They are the reason the club have been there. They are the reason South Sudan have been represented,” the source revealed.

Meanwhile, there is something to celebrate for the fans of Yei Joint Stars, as the acting president stressed that they are engaging the girls into agreeing new deals with the club.

“It’s not a big deal, contracts are personal. We are already engaging them since last year. We have been talking with a couple of them. Let them know that we value them, even as we look forward to keeping most of them in the squad,” he said.

The girls have been instrumental pillars to the club, winning most of the matches.

“We cannot just let them leave like that. We will reward them with new contracts. If they also get better chances, we will not hesitate to let them leave.”
