Authorities in Budi County of Eastern Equatoria State said they are investigating the killing of an elderly woman suspected to have been hanged by unknown criminals on Thursday.
The deceased was found with some bruises on her neck.
In an interview with The City Review, the Homiri Payam Administrator in Budi County, Lokiru Rafael, said the body of the elderly woman was found lying in Chukudum primary school.
He said the investigation to establish the killing was underway in the area.
“We are still carrying an investigation because on Wednesday in the evening she was with some people and in later that evening they were still sitting together.”
He added, “It was even a surprise to the neighbor, the people she stayed with together to hear that she was found dead.”
According to the administrator, the community suspected the family whose son killed their person two years ago and fled to Uganda.
“The son in the last two years had a problem and went to Palabek in Uganda, but now we don’t know exactly whether it is these people whose son has committed the crime or not. We really don’t know,” Rafael explained.
“This is something bad that all of us have to condemn. It is not good at all. We know mistakes are always there. If anybody happens to commit a crime there are procedures that’s why we have the police,” he said.
