The state revitalised government of Central Equatoria State has lost its newly appointed minister of finance, planning and investment, Diana Susu Hassan.

Ms. Susu succumbed to unknown illness in Kenyan capital, Nairobi, on Monday, the state minister of information Poulino Lukudu said.

Mr. Lukudu, who announced her death to the media on Monday, ordered all the state institutions to fly the flag at half-mast for three days as they continue to mourn her.

“I direct all the state institutions to fly the state flag at half-mast,” Lukudu announced calling on people of Central Equatoria to stand with the grieved family.

According to Lukudu, the Susu had traveled last month to Kenya to seek further treatment for unknown illness where she passed on.

She died just a few weeks after her appointment as minister by President Salva Kiir Mayardit in mid-February.

She died at her early 30s, just a month following the death of her mother, Mary Kiden, who was a national member of parliament in February this year.

Susu left behind two children.
