The Former Minister of Gender Child and Social Welfare of defunct Jubek State, Rose Lisok Paulino has been left stranded after getting thrown out of a government-owned house without prior notice from authorities.

Rose served as the Minister of Agriculture before and later she was appointed as the Minister of Gender, Child and Social Welfare in the then 32 States under the leadership of Governor Augustino Jadalla Wani.

Rose was relieved from her position as the Minister in February 2020 after President Salva Kiir reverted the country back to ten states to end a long-standing deadlock with opposition groups.

“I know it is a government house whereby you have time and move away and give a chance to others. We did not refuse but I did not expect the police coming to make eviction in a criminal way,” she told The City Review exclusively.

“I was able to enter this house in 2019. I moved in as the Minister knowing that this is our state. I think the SPLM has been hijacked, the real SPLM members are out,” Rose added.

The former minister stressed that she was part of the committee asking the State and national government for compensation after their removal amid the return of ten states.

“The governor knows our case and up to now, he cannot meet us. What we need is the welfare package because all of us worked for this government,” she said.

Rose who has a family of ten people in the house, including her mother has been left stranded with nowhere to go or anyone to turn to.
