The Governor of Jonglei State, Dr Riek Gai Kok, has reiterated his administration’s dedication to grassroots development and community engagement.

He made the remarks following a recent visit to five payams, including Anyidi, Makuach, Baidit, Kolnyang, and finally Jalle Payam in Jonglei State.

During his tour, Dr. Gai assessed the dykes on the water of Mabiordol, the ongoing projects that will strengthen ties with the community and reinforce their commitment to inclusive governance.

Speaking at the event, Twic East Commissioner Juach Arok Juach urged stakeholders to prioritize governance over party politics.

“This is a time for development, not political distractions,” said Juach as he called for collective efforts to advance the state’s interests.

He described the governor’s visit as a testament to his leadership style, while highlighting the overwhelming community support for the current administration.

Meanwhile, area Paramount Chief Malaak Ayuen Mayen commended the improvements in infrastructure and the clean environment in the area.

 “Our land is becoming what we have always envisioned, a place of order, beauty, and opportunity,” he said.

On a positive note, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to reintegrating the internally displaced persons in the area to improve their living standards.
