The Vice President for Economic Cluster, Dr James Wani Igga, and Central Equatoria State Governor, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, have laid down plans to address the state’s numerous issues.

This comes after the two met at Governor Adil’s office on Thursday to discuss the challenges facing CES and how they can be addressed.

In a statement released by Governor Adil’s office, and seen by The City Review, Dr Igga was concerned about the rampant issues facing the state. As such, he engaged Adil to draw up plans to address them.

The two discussed issues of persistent land grabbing, cattle herders occupying farmlands, insecurity and the return of the Internal Displaced Persons (IDPs) to their respective places.

“Vice President James discussed a wide range of issues of fundamental concerns about the current state of affairs, ranging from the persistent land grabbing, the presence of cattle herders in some parts of the state, the general security situation, as well as the return programme of those in their respective camps to their places of origin as peace holds across the state,” the statement read in part.

It further stated that the two leaders reaffirmed the government’s efforts towards addressing these issues holistically.

The two top officials also agreed to cooperate with communities in the state in finding amicable solutions to the problems.

“The two called for a maximum level of cooperation from the civil population, especially in dealing with the predominant issues of land grabbing, citing that the public should strictly follow the rightful procedures for the acquisition of land as enshrined in the legal documents of this country.”

Governor Adil described the visit as a way forward, encouragement and blessings as his leadership rolls out some comprehensive programmes across the state that are geared towards service delivery.
