Malakia Football Club has signed Future Stars Football Academy’s (FSFA) founder and former technical director, Bilal Felix Komoyangi, as the club’s new head coach.

The former Bright Stars man replaced the club’s interim coach, Jacob Monday Juma, who had kept Malakia at the top of the log in the first division league.

Komoyangi’s appointment as Malakia’s head coach will now see the former interim coach, Jacob Monday Juma, relegated to the position of the club’s assistant fitness coach.

Malakia will be expecting an instant impact from their new manager, who has served at Atlabara FC, Kator FC, and Bright Stars.

Komoyangi, who has signed a two-year contract that will keep him at the club till 2024, is expected to demonstrate his experience on and off the pitch.

In an interview with The City Review, the interim coach, Juma, said he had no ill feelings about being replaced, adding that he had only been acting as an assistant head coach.

“No bitter feelings”

“I am happy [with] the appointment of the new coach, Felix. I was the one who requested the club to sign a new head coach, simply because I am the original fitness coach.

“I was appointed just to guard the team for six months, and in agreement, I told them clearly that I would let them look for a head coach so that I continue with my normal position as the team’s fitness coach,” Juma said.

He reiterated his readiness to work with the new manager and lead the club to glory.

“His (Felix’s) coming is a blessing to me as well as the club,” Juma said. We are going to work together to achieve our goals for Malakia FC,” he added.

Meanwhile, Future Stars Football Academy also confirmed that their former director has signed for Juba giants Malakia FC.

The FSFA described their former director as a humble, and hard-working man on the football field.

“Felix is very humble, kind and hard-working when it comes to the aspects of the game. He is more passionate and enthusiastic about football. “Congratulations and wish him good luck in his future endeavours,” the statement on the FSFA page reads.
