A 65-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for killing a colleague in the oilfield in Rubkona County, Unity State.
The deceased was working with a contractor company under GPOC.
Speaking to The City Review, the State Police spokesperson John Malieth said the killing happened when cattle raiders attacked the area during the night.
The suspect, who is currently in police custody came out from the house to confirm who the raiders were and unknowingly opened fire at the colleague.
He added that the victim succumbed to a gun wound at a hospital in Juba on Friday.
“The incident took place in Unity oilfield where some cattle were being resettled by local authorities from the flood-submerged southern Rubkona County.”
