Kiir reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to the support of Eastern Equatoria towards its pursuit of becoming a peaceful, united, and peaceful state.

President Salva Kiir has directed the Governor of Eastern Equatoria State, Louis Lobong Lojore, to ensure peace and stability prevail in the state.

Kiir made the directive on Thursday at a meeting with Governor Lobong at the State House in Juba.

The meeting focused on the current security, political, and economic environment in Eastern Equatoria, according to the presidential press unit.

Governor Lobong told the President that the state remains peaceful, with all possible efforts being made to enhance cooperation among political parties and stakeholders for maintaining harmony.

 “We are working hand in hand with all political parties to maintain peace and stability in the state, and so far, the situation is holding,” Lobong said. 

He continued that the state government was mobilizing communities towards practicing large-scale farming.

According to him, the action is meant to boost local food production and improve household livelihoods.

Also, Lobong highlighted the ongoing plans by the state government to initiate a cost-sharing scheme with local communities.

He said the program is focused on enhancing the delivery of key social services, particularly in the health department.

Meanwhile, in his part, the head of state reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to the support of Eastern Equatoria towards its pursuit of becoming a peaceful, united, and peaceful state.

The meeting underscored the importance of coordination between national and state governments towards advancing stability and development across South Sudan.
