At least six armed criminals including a soldier were arrested at the protection of civilians’ camp in Juba, Elijah Hon Badeaf, Camp Chairman, said.

“Six suspected criminals were arrested after a manhunt carried out by the police in the past four days, inside the camp and its outskirts. Thus, the police arrested some of the perpetrators in possession of weapons. They were six people, including one soldier.”

This comes in the wake of the police deploying a series of patrols, following complaints submitted by many displaced people last week, regarding repeated armed robberies in the Civilian Protection Camp 3.

Hon confirmed that the gunmen looted and terrorized citizens and as a result of their criminal operations, one man was injured.

“(Police) section 5 in the Amadi area are the ones who arrested these criminals,” he said.

However, Hon said conditions had returned to normal after the police arrested the criminals.
