South Sudan’s COVID-19 cases have gone up by 84 making the cumulative tally to cross the 8,000 mark in the past 24 hours, data from the COVID-19 Incident Manager Dr Richard Lako reveals.

The country’s cumulative caseload now stands at 8,010 and the total cumulative tests now stand at 110,226.

Total active cases are 3,699 and 4,217 have so far recovered from the virus. The cumulative death toll is at 94, just a few figures to the 100 mark. Nonetheless, there was no death case registered in the past 24 hours.

767 contacts are currently being followed up for testing and treatment. The country is currently under a partial lockdown which could be extended or reviewed on Wednesday, March 3.

Also, the COVID-19 Audit committee is continuing with the inspections of the institutions to assess their preparedness to combat the spread of the disease.
