South Sudan’s COVID-19 cases have gone up by 134 cases in the past 24 hours, data from the COVID-19 Incident Manager Dr Richard Lako reveal.
This pushes the country’s cumulative caseload to 8,144 and the total active cases are now 3,832.
4,217 have recovered from the virus according to the statement. But this number seems to have stagnated for days meaning the country is not recording recoveries faster as it used to be.
The country registered an additional death taking the cumulative deaths to 95, just few cases away from 100.
730 contacts are currently being followed up for testing and treatment. The country is currently under a partial lockdown which could be extended or review on March 3.
Also, the COVID-19 Audit committee is continuing with the inspections of the institutions to assess their preparedness to combat the spread of the disease. The Cumulative tests already done so far now stands at 111, 214.
