The country’s COVID-19 cases have scaled up by 30 pulling the cumulative caseload to 9,879 in 125,331 total tests.

According to the data from the COVID-19 Incident Manager Dr Richard Lako, the country’s sample size has shrunk hence the reduction in the daily positive results. For example in the past 24 hours, the country was only able to test 167 samples.

However, the authorities are still tracing a large number of suspected cases. Currently, there are 994 active cases and 1,298 contacts on follow-up.

The numbers of those who have recovered are 8,779. One patient is critically ill at the IDU while there was no death in the last day.

The country is currently on a partial lockdown after the ministry of health extended the restrictions on March 3 citing an increase in community transmissions.
