The South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF) Command met with the leader of the Lou-Nuer White Army in Juba on Monday.
In a statement released by SSPDF spokesperson Maj. Gen Lul Ruai Koang, the army’s high command hailed Mr. Koat Nyang Banang, the leader of the Lou-Nuer White Army from Buong village, Buong Payam, Akobo County in Jonglei State, whose forces rescued and protected the survivors of the SSPDF.
He said the Lou-Nuer white army forces nurtured, helped in the extraction process, and accompanied them to Juba SSPDF’s survivors of the Nasir attack.
“The commander lauded and highly appreciated the patriotic move the people of Buong demonstrated which resulted in the preservation of the precious lives of 12 dedicated servicemen,” Maj. Gen Lul said.
“The people of Buong and Greater Lou-Nuer were encouraged to remain neutral as they had demonstrated prior to the eruption of clashes in Nasir.”
