There is high expectation in Yambio, as the newly appointed deputy governor for Western Equatoria state, Daniel Badagbu, is set for a major homecoming on Wednesday. Badagbu, who took office on September 10, will arrive at Yambio Airstrip at 8:00 a.m., marking his first official visit to the region since his appointment.

The High-Level Committee for the reception has been planning the event, aiming to showcase the region’s unity and cultural pride. Ann Tunna Richard, chairperson for Information and Mobilization, confirmed that the arrival will be followed by a public rally at Yambio Freedom Square, providing an opportunity for residents to engage with their new deputy governor.

“We are calling on all churches, community leaders, traditional groups, NGOs, and private companies to join us in welcoming Deputy Governor Daniel Badagbu Rimbasa,” Richard stated. “Your presence at Yambio Airstrip is paramount, followed by a rally at Yambio Freedom Square.”

A committee member expressed the significance of the visit, saying, “This is not just an arrival—it’s a statement of unity, optimism, and a shared vision for the future of Western Equatoria. We want to show Deputy Governor Bagdabu that he has the backing of the entire state as he steps into this pivotal role.”

The rally at Yambio Freedom Square is expected to feature performances from traditional dance groups, music, and speeches from local leaders, reinforcing the deputy governor’s connection to his roots and his commitment to the state’s progress.
