The minister for education in Northern Bahr El Gazal state blames loitering on laziness as most youth don’t take care of the elderly.
Akoon Diing Akoon urges the youth on Tuesday to embrace the culture of creating jobs for oneself and avoid look at the government as the source of employment.
Diing says that the youth have begun leaving their homes where there are their elderly ones who resort to begging as the able-bodied ones run to cities or towns for white collar jobs which never materialize.
“We have been seeing the young people going to towns and leaving their elderly people behind. This culture has to be put to an end. Try to work so that you help your people who are destitute” He cautions.
“I am saying this after getting a lot of scenarios as they go and sit in towns and cities like Juba. Kindly be productive” He beseeches.
In a different vein, Diinng commends the role played by educators as the results of girls who have passed the P.8 exams in the recently announced results have shown that the girls have outperformed this year compared to some years’ results.
Diing was speaking at the funeral rite of Sultan Mel Kuol Akol, the father’s Vice president Dr. Bol Mel which was organized as a 40 day memorial service at Rialdit in Madhol payam, which was attended by state officials including other dignitaries who travelled all the way from Juba to witness the occasion.
On that occasion, governor Simon Ober Mawut urges the people of the state to keep uniting themselves and be beacon of hopes to other states affected by conflict, ..He urges the elders and parents to keep instillinng messages of peace in the state.
