At least one person was confirmed dead and two others injured in a motorbike accident along Torit-Kapoeta highways on Sunday, police said.

The injured were taken to Torit Civil Hospital for treatment.

In an interview with The City Review on Monday, the Traffic Director in Eastern Equatoria State, Adam Satiro, said the three were going for a traditional dance in Iloli Village of Torit County when they were involved in the accident.

According to the official, the three boys fell from the motorbike alone as there was no interference from the other road users.

“The motorbike remains safe but the person who was sitting in the middle is the one who died.”

According to the traffic officer, it was the first incident recorded along the Torit–Kapoeta Highway since the beginning of the year, compared to last year when the rate was too high at the time.
